Help Us Honor the Service and Sacrifice of Army Women

The U.S. Army Women’s Foundation is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization originally established in 1969. The mission of the U.S. Army Women’s Foundation is to promote public interest in the Army and the women who serve in the Army. The Foundation recognizes and honors the service of Army women and supports the U.S. Army Women’s Museum located at Fort Lee, Virginia.

We need your help to spread the word about the Service and Sacrifice of our Army women. Your contribution can go a long way towards making this happen! Your contribution can help to support the Army Women’s Museum at Fort Lee — a Museum that preserves the history of Army women and captures our current history. It is the only Museum in the world dedicated to Army women. Your contribution can help to expand our programs — all of them focused on our Army women.

Your contribution is important to us. Every contribution counts. Every contribution helps to let our citizens learn more about the service and sacrifice of Army women!

We need your Support for the Museum and our Projects! What would you like to support?

Volunteer

We Need You!

Both the U.S. Army Women’s Foundation and the U.S. Army Women’s Museum depend on volunteers. While some activities require physical presence many others can be done from a distance. Are you an Army woman veteran or are you interested in assisting the Foundation or the Museum? Please read on!

The Foundation

The U.S. Army Women’s Foundation works to increase recognition of Army women and to support the U.S. Army Women’s Museum. We are scattered across the country and do our work through email, telephone, and at face-to-face meetings. You don’t have to live in the Fort Lee or Washington, D.C. areas to help! We’re looking for volunteers for the following programs:

Tell Your Story

The oral history program — We’re looking for Foundation supporters to record oral history interviews with Army women. We provide training, equipment if needed, and detailed step-by-step instructions. Volunteers will record the experiences of both Army women veterans and women who are on active duty.

Foundation Supporters

We have exciting programs that will only get better as we are joined by new Army women supporters. You may know men or women that you can recommend. Perhaps you can host a membership drive event. Either way, we would appreciate your efforts to help us grow.

The Museum

The U.S. Army Women’s Museum has amazing stories to tell and a rich archival collection available by appointment o researchers and the general public. As with most museums, there is more to do than the staff can handle, and there are many volunteer opportunities. You can help! While military experience is helpful, it is not required to support the Museum’s programs. The Museum staff will provide training. Please visit their web site at: www.awm.lee.army.mil to see what volunteer opportunities are available for you.
